Our Founder

    Pastor James Taylor was born to Mr. & Mrs. James G. Taylor of Carthage, Texas. At an early age, God called Pastor James Taylor to preach His gospel, and to be a witness and a servant for Him. As he got older, he accepted his call to do God’s will. Later, Pastor Taylor married his lovely wife First Lady Joetta Taylor of Woodlawn Texas. They currently live in Longview, Texas where Pastor Taylor has resided for the last twenty-two years.

     One night, God spoke to Elder Taylor and instructed him to start a church and to name that church the PowerHouse Ministries. He obeyed and began teaching, preaching, and pastoring to all races and ethnic groups, using the gifts that God imparted into him such as teaching, facilitating, and prophesying; which will bring people together in unity standing on God’s word. God told Pastor Taylor that he and his wife would birth many ministries such as:

• Family Time
• Gospel Block Party
• Men’s Conference : Are You In The Game
